Pursuing a Second Wind

My Thirty Years in Pediatric Lung Transplantation

I cover the history of organ transplantation, the biology of the lung including the reasons that lung transplantation faces more challenges than other organs. I discuss the system by which individuals and families generously share their loved one's organs with others for transplantation. The main portion of the book is found in the stories of individual patients and their families in their transplant experience.  I finish with a perspective on life lessons learned and a view of the future with cautious optimism.
